Harken’s Top 5 Fitness Regimes

Hej Everybody,

Hope everyone is doing good. I am throwing another random Harken’s Top 5 blog at you again. I figure we go with fitness this time. Everybody loves fitness…..right? Well even if you don’t if you say you’re bored and have nothing to do, get up off that couch and try one of these exercises. You may surprise yourself and get into a healthy habit.

1. Yoga

This is good physical therapy for me. It not only helps with physical health but mental health as well. There’s many different styles of yoga to choose from so whatever your skill level is there’s something for you. Here are some reasons why yoga has been beneficial for me:

-Great for improving flexibility.

-Increases breathing and blood flow.

-Aids in balance.

-Helps clear the mind to go into meditation.

-It tones the body.

-Just need a yoga mat.

My favorite yoga channel: Boho Beautiful.

2. HIIT

HIIT is a great way to get some cardio and toning in especially if you are strapped for time. With HIIT, you can rev up your metabolism and continue to burn calories even after your workout. Here are some reasons how it benefits me:

-The Tabata style(20 sec exercise, 10 sec rest) is great to get into a high impact exercise but not too long where it will affect my joints like running for an hour would.

-Helps build muscle and keeps my body stronger.

-Good for my cardiovascular system.

-No gym or equipment needed.

My favorite HIIT channel: Fitness Blender.

3. PILATES

This can go hand in hand with a lot of workouts including yoga and HIIT. Some reasons why I like this workout are:

-Helps tone my entire body.

-Enhances my core strength.

-No equipment needed.

-Don’t need a gym.

My favorite pilates channel: Again I got to go with Boho Beautiful.

4. HIKING

This is a great way to get a great workout, challenge yourself mentally(especially endurance hiking) and connect with nature. The benefits for me are:

-Great leg and core workout.

-I get to enjoy beautiful scenery.

-It’s a good getaway from the crazy civilization we live in.

-Helps with meditation.

-I can connect back with nature.

5. TAE BO

Can’t go wrong with Billy Blanks’ workout. I have enjoyed this workout for many years. What I get out of it is:

-Great for toning.

-Good cardio.

-No equipment needed.

-I can actually take Billy Blanks seriously in the workouts instead of laughing my dupa off trying to workout with some other fitness videos.

He has his own Tae Bo channel on Youtube.

ADDED BONUS: HULA HOOPING!

Sometimes you just have to go back to the basics, pick up a cheap child’s toy and bringing back some childhood memories. What I like about hula hooping is:

-It’s low impact but you can still burn a decent amount of calories.

-It’s a cheap piece of equipment.

-I can get work done while I hoop. Yes I am hooping while writing this blog.

-Plus it’s fun!

Well there you have it. My top 5 favorite workouts that you can do just about anywhere at any intensity that suites you. No fancy equipment, no expensive gym fees, just you and your willpower to get up off that couch. You can even do these workouts in front of the TV if your heart desires. I suggest you don’t because that box is junk food for the brain, but that’s another blog for another time. I hope you enjoyed this blog and let me know your favorite workouts in the comments below. Whether you are a fitness junkie or a couch potato, dzięki for reading.

If you want to get your finances in order while getting a few laughs in then I suggest ordering yourself a copy of my new book: Money & Why’d You Have To Spend It On That? Also too, here’s another book I enjoyed for your reading pleasure.

Tao Te Ching

This book consists of 81 philosophical poems that suite every aspect in life that you may face. It is a good pick me up and a book that will make your brain think with some of the poems.

Some good quotes are:

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”

“Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know.”

Health Quotes #12 & 13

Hej Everybody,

Health & Not Screwing It Up Quote #12 is up on Pinterest. This quote brings up the subject of meditation and stillness. Health is more than just eating healthy and exercise. Here you go:

https://pin.it/74LEHnu

Quote #13 basically means to stop comparing yourself or your things to other people. Just because your neighbor has a new big screened TV doesn’t mean you need one as well especially when what you have works just fine.
